Four Nigerians Arrested For Making Fake 2000 Marriage Certifications To Help People Live In UK illegally

After fabricating more than 2,000 marriage licenses to assist individuals living in the UK unlawfully, four Nigerians were sentenced to prison. At Woolwich Crown Court in London on Tuesday, Abraham Alade Olarotimi Onifade, 41, Abayomi Aderinsoye Shodipo, 38, Nosimot Mojisola Gbadamosi, 31, and Adekunle Kabir, 54, were all given sentences.

The four were allegedly a member of an organized crime organization that submitted fictitious applications for Nigerian nationals to the EU Settlement Scheme, according to the Home Office. It was discovered that they conducted the business from March 2019 to May of the previous year, and that in order to aid applicants in staying in the nation, they had also given fake Nigerian customary marriage certificates and other bogus papers. The gang, who were themselves Nigerian, facilitated the creation of over 2,000 bogus marriage certificates, according to an inquiry conducted by the Home Office in the UK and Lagos.

“Like many of the gangs we come across, money was their only concern. I am happy that my team was able to snoop on their activity, and I am hoping that these convictions will send a bad message to dishonest gangs that take advantage of people’s desperate attempts to stay in the UK.We are going to keep working nonstop to fortify our borders and take action against the gangs that prey on the weak in order to profit.
