About the Role:

As a Store Manager in cellular retail, you will spearhead daily store operations to meet and exceed sales targets, customer service excellence, and retail innovation goals. You will be responsible for efficient inventory management, driving cellular product sales growth, and ensuring smooth store operations to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Stock Management & Inventory Control:

    • Accurately receive, unpack, merchandise, and replenish stock to maintain optimal stock availability.

    • Conduct regular stock counts and implement loss prevention strategies to reduce shrinkage and improve stock accuracy.

    • Maintain high standards of warehouse housekeeping and authorise write-offs, recalls, cellular repairs, and returns in compliance with company policies.

  • Sales Growth & Profitability:

    • Analyse sales performance reports and profitability metrics to identify trends and collaborate on actionable plans for revenue growth.

    • Monitor and report on in-store product performance including mobile phone sales, accessories, and insurance services.

    • Develop and execute strategies to boost cellular product sales, mobile insurance penetration, and new account activations.

    • Leverage in-store marketing initiatives and competitor benchmarking to increase brand awareness and drive foot traffic.

  • Risk Management & Compliance:

    • Conduct regular store audits, compliance checks, and health & safety inspections to ensure adherence to company standards and legal requirements.

    • Manage point of sale (POS) system audits, security protocols, and loss control procedures to mitigate business risks.

  • Customer Experience Management:

    • Implement customer-centric strategies including promotions, markdowns, and visual merchandising to deliver exceptional retail customer service.

    • Monitor and respond to customer feedback and maintain store appearance and housekeeping standards to enhance the shopping experience.

  • Leadership & Team Development:

    • Lead and motivate the store team to consistently achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with the company’s retail business strategy.

    • Identify and develop talent through targeted training, coaching, and succession planning, fostering a culture of high performance and employee engagement.

    • Oversee recruitment, performance management, and compliance with human resource policies.

  • Innovation & Technology Implementation:

    • Drive adoption of innovative retail technology solutions such as MPOS systems, MRP Empower platforms, and digital document management (E-docs) to streamline store processes and improve operational efficiency.

    • Champion digital transformation initiatives to enhance customer service and increase store productivity.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • NQF Level 4 (Grade 12)

  • Proven expertise in sales management, budget control, inventory management, and customer service excellence.

  • Strong communication and computer literacy skills essential for managing retail operations software and reporting tools.

  • In-depth knowledge of retail cellular products, mobile phone insurance, and new account sales processes.
