Key Responsibilities
As a Retail Store Manager, your primary responsibility is to ensure store performance aligns with business goals. This role involves both strategic leadership and hands-on execution in daily operations.
1. Sales & Profitability
Drive daily, weekly, and monthly sales to meet or exceed retail sales targets.
Implement strategic sales planning to enhance store performance.
Use performance management tools to track KPIs and develop action plans.
Increase average transaction value and maximize units per transaction.
2. Expense Management
Effectively control store operating costs, including utilities, payroll, and supplies.
Monitor store budgets and contribute to financial planning and analysis.
3. Stock Management
Ensure effective inventory control and compliance with shrinkage standards.
Coordinate with the inventory team to manage stock replenishment and in-store merchandising.
Conduct regular stocktakes to avoid stock losses and discrepancies.
4. People Management & Leadership
Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing sales team.
Lead employee engagement initiatives and drive staff motivation.
Handle employee relations and disciplinary matters as per labor laws and company policies.
Foster a strong team culture through goal-setting, coaching, and performance evaluations.
5. Visual Merchandising & Branding
Implement and maintain visual merchandising strategies in alignment with the brand’s image.
Guarantee that all displays, product placements, and signage meet corporate standards.
Maintain cleanliness and order to support a world-class customer experience strategy.
6. Customer Service Excellence
Deliver outstanding customer service through effective execution of our customer-centric approach.
Resolve customer complaints and inquiries professionally and efficiently.
Continuously improve customer loyalty and satisfaction through loyalty programs and personalized service.
Qualifications and Experience
To qualify for this role, you must meet the following minimum requirements:
A valid Matric Certificate (Grade 12).
At least 3 years of retail experience, with 1 year in a store leadership or assistant store manager position.
Proven experience with customer service delivery, retail operations, and sales process management.
